Chalice Well & Garden

For over two thousand years the Red Spring, or Blood Spring, has flowed ceaselessly and is a place where people have gathered to drink the waters and find solace, peace and inspiration. There are many legends associated with this holy site. Not least among these is that the waters represent the blood of Christ miraculously springing forth from the ground when Joseph of Arimathea buried or washed the cup used at the Last Supper. For others the waters are acknowledged as the essence of life, the gift from Mother Earth to sustain its living forms and so a continuous spring like Chalice Well is a direct expression of an unbounded life force. In the Gardens there are several Holy Thorn trees, believed to have descended from the original Holy Thorn planted by Joseph of Arimathea. They flower both spring and mid-winter. It is also one of the meeting places of the two powerful ley lines, the Michael and Mary lines – on their way eastwards to the North Sea from the Atlantic Coast in western Cornwall.

The Tor

A site of religious significance for over 1,000 years. On top of the Tor stands the remains of St. Michael’s Tower, with a strange system of terraces around its sides. In legend, these terraces are said to form a maze with magical symbolism. It's said that beneath the hill there's a hidden cave through which you can pass into the fairy realm of Annwn. There dwells Gwyn ab Nudd, the lord of the Celtic underworld, with the Cauldron of Rebirth. Later tradition has it that the Holy Grail lies here, brought by Jesus’ uncle, Joseph of Arimathea. The Cauldron and the Grail were both the object of quests for King Arthur and his knights.

White Spring

Another great mystery of the Isle of Avalon. The second healing spring, this one touch white with calcite, having risen within a few feet of from the Chalice Well, from the caverns beneath Glastonbury Tor. The interior consists of three domed vaults 16ft high, with beautiful bowed floors - like the hull of a boat moored at the portal to the Otherworld. With it's constant temperature, and the sound of the perpetually flowing water, it is a unique and sacred space.

A series of pools have been built according to the principles of sacred geometry, and simple shrines in honour of the ancient energies and spirits of Avalon have been created within the temple. All enhanced by the ley line known as the Michael line which flows through this place. Listen to the water, the white spring flowing from deep within the tor; for it has memory. This is a sanctuary, a sacred place set apart.

Abbey House Garden

Abbey House is an important part of the Glastonbury Abbey estate, both historically and today. Abbey House today retains much of its Tudor Gothic character and the beautiful garden surrounded by roses looks out over the abbey ruins. This is the perfect setting for the sacred workshop we will be hosting within the garden setting.

Magdalene Chapel

Within the chapel you can descend the steps to the womb of the Lady Chapel in Glastonbury Abbey. This is known as the heart of the Chapel, the womb of the Mother that lies beneath: the Magdalene altar can be found there. It is the perfect place for prayer, meditation and activations held within the energy of Mary Magdalene and the sacred rose. Within this chapel we come together to share a space connected to Mary Magdalene and be nourished by her sacred medicine.

The Abbey Ruins

Although today it stands in ruins, Glastonbury Abbey, in Somerset, England, is still a powerfully evocative place, shrouded in history, religion, and mythology. One story claims that Joseph of Arimathea, legendary keeper of the Holy Grail, founded the first Christian church in Britain at Glastonbury shortly after the death of Christ. Another holds that in 1191, monks from the abbey unearthed a hollowed-out log containing two bodies and an inscribed cross that read: “Here lies buried King Arthur and his wife Guinevere.”

The sensation of a deep, powerful story reverberates from the sculpted stones of the remaining walls, encoded as they are with a mystery that lingers here.
